Founder & CPA
Karen grew up on a ranch 60 miles east of Sturgis near Enning, SD, and earned her Accounting degree at Black Hills State University. In 1985, she began practicing as a CPA out of her home, often with children playing at her feet. She grew her practice by word of mouth, patiently, one satisfied client at a time.
Three decades later and Karen is now in partnership with her daughter Anita, who earned her CPA credentials in 2018. Together, the partners now lead a team of professionals that provide a full range of services to well over a thousand clients from their Junction Ave office in Sturgis.
Karen specializes in Farm and Ranch, Business, and complex personal taxes. She serves as a board member for a number of area non-profits, and enjoys time in the Hills with her husband, Fred Parks.
"We care about our clients and try to treat each one like family. Through a formidable combination of compassion and skill, our mission is to simplify the complex world of accounting & tax, aggressively pursuing the most favorable strategies, permitting our clients to rest easy, confident in the accurate, ethical and compliant nature of our service.”
Anita graduated from Black Hills State University with a Business Management and Human Resource Management major
and a minor in Economics and International Studies. After 10 years in banking operations, internet banking, and
credit analysis, Anita joined the family business in 2011. She recently finished an Accounting degree and passed her CPA exam in 2018. She is excited to be a partner with her mom, and carry on the traditions of the firm.
At the office Anita is at her best when she can brainstorm, strategize, and think outside the box. She has a passion for small business planning, senior financial management, and actually enjoys doing taxes. Outside of the office she loves collecting stamps in her passport, road trips, live music, and baking.

Randi has called western South Dakota home for the majority of her life. She grew up on the family ranch near Red Owl, graduated from Sturgis Brown High School and has called Sturgis home since 2003. Randi earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical
Assisting from Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD in 2002. She worked in the medical field until 2008 when she had the opportunity to live out her dream of being a stay at home mom. Now that her kids are older she’s excitedly began a new adventure in the
accounting world. When Randi isn’t at the office you’ll find her alongside her husband cheering on one of their three kids at whatever activity is happening during that season. She also has a passion for photography, an addiction to coffee, and loves to get lost in a good book.
