Karen Simmons
Founder & CPA

Karen grew up on a ranch 60 miles east of Sturgis near Enning, SD, and earned her Accounting degree at Black Hills State University. In 1985, she began practicing as a CPA out of her home, often with children playing at her feet. She grew her practice by word of mouth, patiently, one satisfied client at a time.
Three decades later and Karen is now in partnership with her daughter Anita, who earned her CPA credentials in 2018. Together, the partners now lead a team of professionals that provide a full range of services to well over a thousand clients from their Junction Ave office in Sturgis.
Karen specializes in Farm and Ranch, Business, and complex personal taxes. She serves as a board member for a number of area non-profits, and enjoys time in the Hills with her husband, Fred Parks.
"We care about our clients and try to treat each one like family. Through a formidable combination of compassion and skill, our mission is to simplify the complex world of accounting & tax, aggressively pursuing the most favorable strategies, permitting our clients to rest easy, confident in the accurate, ethical and compliant nature of our service.”
